With the relieve the brand new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 continues to be a thrilling year for gadget fans. Worldwide, people are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create pics and vids of themselves zipping around with this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears to be a board with a wheel on each side.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (because of it’s likeness to the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) nobody is sure entirely where this type of hoverboard scooter comes from or who invented the very first. Most likely it comes from some factory in China. The 1st glimpses we were treated to of it on television were something called the IO Hawk, a scooter that costs an impressive $1800. This is in January of 2015. Since that time many cheaper versions of the product came available on the market as well as the average price right now seems to be around $500.

How does it work? Basically you climb onto both panels and shift the body weight slightly forward or slightly back plus it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. It can also turn left or right. This hoverboard scooter is proving to be so popular it really is being touted because the personal mobility device of the future. Who would like to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it’s actually a lot faster than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
