When Jesus came and brought the gospel of Christianity it absolutely was welcomed from the masses as exceptionally great news. Thousands followed him to know the language of life that he spoke. After he was crucified, his disciples continued preaching and teaching his ways and they were likewise welcomed because bringers of proper news.
Definitely not individuals were thrilled at this new teaching. The established religion during the day opposed it violently, even putting many to death for preaching what of God. They whipped, beat, imprisoned and crucified a few who chose to follow or teach the newest gospel. Yet despite the suffering inflicted, they couldn’t destroy this teaching or halt multiplication of this good news.
Among the charges laid contrary to the early teachers of the gospel was they, “Turned the globe upside down” using this teaching (Acts 17:6). Truly, the newest teachings of the gospel of Christ were nice thing about it and tremendously powerful.
Many people will accept a lot of things, and not many would choose to suffer abuse, torture, ridicule or perhaps die as opposed to renounce their beliefs. But such was the enormity and power of this very good news.
Consider the condition of the apostles shortly after Jesus ended up put to death. These were subdued and meeting in Jerusalem, wondering what to do next after their Lord and teacher was taken from them. But since they were gathered together right then and there of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit together with the power of God uncovered them, transforming them into powerful and charismatic preachers of the very good news. Peter stood up within the people possibly at his preaching on that day, 3300 people ventured into the Lord upon hearing what’s promising from the gospel (Acts 2:14-42).
Such could be the power the preaching of Christ who’s can’t be merely called very good news yet it’s “Great News”. No time before or since has there been such a message as powerful since the gospel and truth of Christianity.
How can this be message so powerful? On this planet man is plagued with all of means of evil, both from the inside and without. Man suffers as a result of his fellow man and many more so at his own hands by succumbing towards the desires of his flesh. Man suffers disease, sickness and death, often because of their own passions and desires. Man sins continually through lies, cheating, envy, jealousy and commits acts of murder, adultery, drug use, theft, insurrection and all sorts of method of wrongdoing. On account of these and many other things, man is continually in a condition of stress.
Just watch the night time news or grab a newspaper and you will probably see the sin and evil rampant on this planet containing man in the grip. It is tremendously stressful to view or read these products. Pressure and tension build until a lot of people get to the point where they wish it will all go away or they might escape the stress.
To be released from this stress would truly be not only good news, but Fantastic news. And that is what exactly Jesus and his disciples offered inside their teachings, and why the people flocked to know these words from the nice thing about it in the gospel of Christ.
The truth in the Gospel is all about freedom, and it is on the market today just as it had been during this time. The great news from the gospel offers freedom from bondage, freedom from sin, freedom from stress and freedom from all of the pressures of this world. And when you’ve got freedom from these you have the a very important factor this world cannot share with you… peace.
For those who have the truth in the gospel it has an inner peace, that will come from knowing Jesus and applying his teachings in your life. When you’re at ease within, it no longer matters exactly what the world throws at you given it can’t affect you if you don’t allow it to. Peace within in these days of great disaster and troubles is actually nice thing about it as well as a real blessing to all or any who find and receive it.
But there is much more on offer from the gospel of Christ. He offers hope for an improved life, both now in this world, and into eternity somewhere and then there will not be any sickness, disease, death or any form of evil.
And the best news of most is that this is freely offered to anyone and everybody who chooses to find it through Jesus Christ. Actually the Gospel of Christ is not only just good news it’s GREAT| news.
