What’s the expression “it is what it is”? Exactly what does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper specification of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating across the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that would take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since this really is my last life on the planet and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting this course In Miracles is needed me clarify its meaning.

Exactly what is the IT that we are talking about here? According to the Course in Miracles, It’s truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it’s imperative that you emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s truth is not offered to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have cause a several religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion like a “system of thought, feeling, and action that’s shared by way of a group understanding that provides the members a physical object of devotion.”

Who devised the system of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is always to resume a perfect state of being. There’s no thought or action from the state of being, you simply are. What ought not to be forgotten could be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.

Put one way, “it ‘s what it is” can be rewritten to “God’s love could be the only truth in fact it is absolute” which truth knows no bounds and is timeless.
